This was a strong, nearly complete week of training with a standout hill workout and continued progress coming off Pat’s Run. I’m seeing improvements in pace and intensity while also making smarter decisions around recovery and injury management. Not perfect—but clearly moving in the right direction.

Weekly Review; 5K PR Smashed
Overall, this was a pretty typical week—and that’s a good thing. The routine is settling in and consistency is starting to stack up. I did set some new milestones, a new PR for my 5k and a new record elevation gain on the bike.

Bicycling Basics
Getting started with cycling doesn’t require a carbon fiber bike or a closet full of gear. If your goal is better health and consistent training, you only need a bike that fits and a safe place to ride. Keep it simple, ride often, and upgrade only when your riding demands it.
